The Housing Partnership

Background
The Housing Partnership (THP) was established in 2003 to help facilitate joint working between English Partnerships and the Housing Corporation; to address the urgent need for more affordable homes and to help deliver more sustainable communities. THP has played a key role in developing and promoting good practice and expertise in joint working between the two organisations.
Current Focus
In 2005 it was agreed that joint working had become imbedded in the culture of both organisations, strong relationships had developed and collaboration between our corporate and regional offices was well established. This enabled a shift of focus of THP away from delivering its own projects to monitoring and developing joint working between English Partnerships and The Housing Corporation.
The Housing Partnership is now focusing on monitoring the delivery of a series of joint strategic projects against common objectives as well as:
- acting as an resource for project teams
- increasing joint working on policy and research objectives
- promoting lessons learned and examples of good practice on joint strategic projects
- identifying and delivering projects and events that will improve communication between the organisations and understanding of each others business
- assisting with the delivery of major projects including sustainability and long-term stewardship.
