Regional Development Agencies
(e.g. in Manchester, Liverpool, Guilford, or Birmingham)
Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) promote the prosperity of particular regions. Their responsibilities include:
- planning funding and co-ordination of building projects
- infrastructure
- general regeneration.
They are also involved in marketing their region to potential visitors and businesses across the country as well as business development, skills and employment support.
A placement with an RDA allows you to learn about the motivations of different development partners and how they prepare and implement their regeneration strategies.
Emma Wilson - Graduate Trainee

I was amazed by the vast amount of work that the Regional Development Agencies are involved with, from economic development to promoting regional tourism. I was also involved in a major Compulsory Purchase Order process to regenerate part of the city.
