Quality Places Forum

Why have a Forum?
The Yorkshire and Humber region has an ambitious vision for delivering housing in the region. This is set out in a series of regional strategies that have a direct impact on the sort of housing that developers produce in the region and where that housing is located. The private sector also has a key role in delivering this vision. The new Quality Places Forum provides an opportunity for the industry and policy makers to come together to ensure productive dialogue to help deliver the housing offer that the region needs.
What will it do?
The Forum will provide an opportunity for key stakeholders in the region to engage the construction industry in delivery. Its focus will be on building better links with construction professionals to ensure that the region can deliver the housing that it needs in the locations that need it. It will also involve those key individuals in housing associations who are responsible for working in partnership with private sector developers to deliver the right type of housing in the right places.
Who will be its members?
Its members will be private sector developers, lead investors from some housing associations and key figures in regional policy making.
What issues will it address? The forward agenda for this group will be set in discussion with members but the sorts of issues we will discuss may include:
- Provision of affordable housing to meet the needs of
future generations. - Driving up numbers whilst still retaining quality.
- Delivering the zero-carbon agenda.
- Brownfield development and the role of gap funding.
- Supply chain management.
