Supporting high quality sustainable growth in England

Graduate Development Programme 2008

Lara Bramwell - Graduate Trainee“The English Partnerships Graduate Development Programme is an excellent way to enter the regeneration field. The programme gives you the opportunity to build on what you have learnt at university, putting the theories into practice, as well as opening up avenues you may not have previously considered.

The programme has allowed me to get involved with a wide variety of projects within English Partnerships at national, regional and local level.

I have also had the opportunity to work with several external partner organisations. I spent time at the Housing Corporation where I researched and wrote a report on the potential cost impact of the change from EcoHomes ‘Very Good’ to the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 on rural schemes. A colleague and I presented this report at a Housing Corporation event for Housing Associations.

My next placement was with a Housing Association in Yorkshire, where I was able to continue with the work I had done at the Housing Corporation looking at current and future projects. I also examined the impact the rise in sustainable design and development criteria could have on the feasibility of these schemes.

The programme truly offers a unique opportunity to work across the regeneration sector!”
