Art on Greenwich peninsula
The Art in the Public Realm Programme on Greenwich peninsula aims to contribute to the development of the social and physical identity of the peninsula, animating the public realm and creating a sense of place.
The strategy for the art programme has been developed by a client group of English Partnerships, Greenwich Millennium Village, Meridian Delta Ltd, Arts Council England and London Borough of Greenwich. Current initiatives under the programme include the Artist Award and Artist Commission.
Artist Award: 10 years on the Greenwich peninsula
This new Award initiated by English Partnerships celebrates the first ten years of regeneration on Greenwich peninsula.
The peninsula was once a derelict brownfield site, and is now one of London's largest regeneration projects; a place in the making. The peninsula has been transformed over the past decade and the next ten years will see even more dramatic changes. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an artist to create work which responds to this transformation.
The closing date for proposals has now passed and the proposals received are being evaluated.

The brief is to create an installation or show an existing work within the three display panels on the story wall in the new public square outside the O2.
These windows provide an opportunity to be an interface between the O2, a major international leisure and entertainment complex, and the peninsula, one of London's most important regeneration projects.
