Homes & Communities Agency

English Partnerships became part of the Homes and Communities Agency on 1 December 2008. This website is no longer being updated but is available for historical reference.

Freedom of Information – photocopying and printing charges

English Partnerships holds records inherited from its predecessors, the Urban Regeneration Agency (which trades as English Partnerships) and the Commission for the New Towns.  It also holds records inherited by these two agencies through their roles as successor bodies to other organisations.  Therefore, we hold records of 22 New Towns, eight Urban Development Corporations, four Housing Action Trusts, and English Industrial Estates Corporation (later English Estates).

Examples of some enquiries which English Partnerships have been able to assist with are:

  • Providing copies of plans of buildings constructed by development corporations
  • Providing information regarding the construction of buildings, such as dates or materials used.
  • Providing copies of planning permission letters
  • Providing copies of images for use in student projects or publications

Please note that English Partnerships operates an ongoing records review programme in accordance with The National Archives guidance.  Therefore, records may have been destroyed, particularly if the matter concerned dates from a number of years ago.

Records over 30 years old

Records over 20 years old and of historic interest are deposited in approved archive repositories.  Records of national importance are deposited with The National Archives and records of local importance are deposited in local authority record offices.  For information regarding records over 30 years old, please contact these repositories in the first instance.
