Bickershaw, Wigan

Bickershaw near Wigan is a former coalfields site. It is part of English Partnerships’ National Coalfields Programme and also a Carbon Challenge site which has been brought forward by the North West Regional Development Agency.

Its objective is to raise the environmental performance of new communities while still delivering quality and high standards of design.

 



The development is expected to deliver circa 650 new homes to Code level 6 and the other quality standards of the Carbon Challenge sites.

The total site area is approx. 18.3 ha (35.3 acres).

Procurement

The Bickershaw Colliery site is being made available through an OJEU Competitive Dialogue process.

The first stage of the procurement process for Bickershaw is now complete and we are assembling the information packs for stage 2.
